Domain Road Central Otago Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 19-Oct-2014
Bright, even, pale straw-yellow colour, lighter edged. The nose is very refined, tight and elegantly proportioned with aromas of white stonefruits lifted by esters and enriched by honeysuckle nuances. Savoury yellow floral sans musk notes unfold, revealing concentration and depth. Off-dry to taste, delicate flavours of stonefruits and lifted honeysuckle feature on the palate. The wine grows in weight and a fine-textural presence carries the gently rich and luscious fruit. The fruit is pure and focussed and follows a fine-textured and lively, lacy acid line, leading to a refreshing, crisp finish with lively fruit. This is an elegant, lively and gently luscious off-dry Pinot Gris with clarity and line. Serve with Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese cuisine over the next 3-4 years. Hand-picked Bannockburn fruit fermented in stainless-steel, with 8% in French oak to 14.0% alc. and 6 g/L RS. 18.0/20 Oct 2014 RRP $25.00
