Domain Road Bannockburn Central Otago Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 11-Apr-2017
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the rim. The nose is very fresh and tightly bound with subtle notes of green stonefruits, nettles and herbs, with lifted white florals and mineral detail. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is taut and tightly bound with flavours of gooseberries and green stonefruits along with subtle notes of nettles and herbs. This has a fine, firm core with very good energy and line. The acidity is poised and refreshing, and the wine carries along a very fine-featured, chalky line leading to a long, subtle stonefruit and herb fruited finish. This is a very fine and firm, subtle oak-influenced Sauvignon Blanc with gooseberry, nettle and green stonefruit flavours on a crisp, chalky line. Serve with seafood and herb-marinated white meat dishes over the next 2-3 years. 82% of the fruit from the ‘Domain Road’ vineyard tank-fermented, and 18% fermented in 7 barriques, one new, to 13.5% alc. and 4.2 g/L RS, the barrel portion aged 3 months on lees. 18.0-/20 Apr 2017 RRP $23.00
