Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. The nose is fresh and elegant with softly interwoven aromas of lifted tropical fruits and passionfruit, unfolding cooler spectrum nettle elements with a little bean-like secondary development suggested. Dry to taste, fresh and tightly bound fruit flavours of nettles and passionfruit form a fine, textural palate with good linearity. The mouthfeel is zingy and racy from the acidity, which adds to the juiciness of the fruit. The acid carries the flavours and leads to a tight, chalky and dry finish with lingering nuances of gooseberries. This is an elegant and refreshing Sauvignon Blanc with cooler spectrum notes and a dry finish. Serve with seafood, salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. Fruit from ‘Templar’s Hill’ and ‘Doctor’s Flat’, 68% fermented in barrel, 32% in stainless-steel, to 13.0% alc. and 4.4 g/L rs. 17.5-/20 May 2013 RRP $25.00
