Dog Point Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 30-Nov-2014
Bright pale straw colour. The nose is soft and densely packed with an array of aromatics, the green stonefruits predominant, but revealing grass, green bean and savoury secondary notes. Soft, gentle and refined on palate, suggesting fatness, the flavours somewhat restrained. This has a rich mouthfeel, and has a soft stylishness. Finish a little lighter. Flinty nuances emerge with aeration. Showing some development and softening now. 13.5% alc., 3.3 g/L RS. 18.5-/20 Oct 2014 RRP $N/A Pale straw colour with green hues. The bouquet features very fine and intensely concentrated aromas of passionfruits and herbs, its youthfulness and tightness will relax. Dry and very refined on palate, this is an elegant wine with intense, but soft passionfruit, gooseberry and tropical notes, lifted in nature. The stylishness of the fruit is matched by soft acidity and very fine textures. The aromatic nature and passionfuity expression is not usual for Dog Point, but it is very attractive. Slim-line and fine featured, this is very accessible now and will drink well over the next 2-3 years. Cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 3.3 g/L rs.  18.5-/20 Feb 2012 RRP $24.99
