Dog Point Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2010

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 30-Nov-2014
Bright straw-yellow colour. This has a shy nose, growing in depth to show an amalgam of stonefruits and minerals, revealing a green bean component, the fruit showing richness. This has a concentrated core with complex flavours of green stonefruits, greengages and nectarines, intermixed with herbs and spices. The mouthfeel has vibrancy and vitality with brightness and energy. A wine with good liveliness and freshness, and plenty of fruit depth. 13.5% alc., 3.2 g/L RS. 18.5+/20 Oct 2014 RRP $N/A Still youthfully pale straw-yellow in colour and tightly bound on the bouquet. Concentrated and dense, but restrained passionfruit and English gooseberries with minerals showing, along with the most subtle nuances of smoke, a little reduction even. The palate weight, fruit extract and texture is the highlight, with softly fresh acidity providing excellent vitality, this has the potential to handle 3-4+ years development, while drinking it with all seafood. Cool fermented with around 20% wild yeasts to 13.5% alc. and 3.2 g/L s.  18.0/20 Mar 2011
