Dog Point Marlborough Chardonnay 2006

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 30-Nov-2014
Bright, light golden straw colour. This is soft, voluminous and fully developed, with an amalgam of savoury ripe citrus fruits, creamy vanilla, and a little nutty oxidation hinted. Layers of secondary detail unfold. Quite complex with waves of savoury fruit and flinty lees work still, along with nutty oak. The mouthfeel is creamy, and guided by a fine phenolic line. This has good power and drive. Growing in texture and dryness on the finish, with a touch of bitter fruit. This may have been a lesser bottle, as other tasters served from another bottle reported this as outstanding. 14.0% alc. and 1.3 g/L RS, 18 months in 25% new French oak. 18.0/20 Oct 2014 RRP $N/A
