Discovery Point Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 24-Jan-2017
Bright pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the rim. The nose is full with concentrated aromas of fragrant and pungent passionfruit along with tropical fruits and fresh herbs, unfolding notes of snow peas, cut grass and nettles. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate shows flavours of passionfruit, tropical fruit, herbs and cut grass. The wine is elegant in proportion and concentration with a fine-featured core and line, balanced by underlying lacy acidity lending gentle energy and tension. The flavours carry with good linearity to a lingering finish of passionfruit and nettles. This is a well-proportioned and concentrated Sauvignon Blanc with a core of passionfruit, cut grass and herbs on a fine-textured, balanced and refreshing palate. Serve with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Dog Point Road, Dillons Point and Lower Waihopi districts, cool-fermented in tank to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 6 months on lees. 18.0/20 Jan 2017 RRP $16.95
