Discovery Point Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 21-Apr-2016
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with youthful green hues, pale on the rim. The nose is tightly bound with youthfully fresh and elegantly proportioned aromas of gooseberry fruit along with mouthwatering minerally notes at the core, unfolding subtle fresh herb, nettle and green capsicum elements. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features juicy and succulent, up-front flavours of gooseberry fruit along with subtle green stonefruit and passionfruit notes, entwined with thirst-quenching mineral elements. The mouthfeel is bright and refreshing with crisp acidity and the wine flows along a very fine-textured line, revealing nuances of fresh herbs, cut grass and capsicums. The wine has an elegant and slender, dry, lingering finish. This is a tight, crisp and refreshing Sauvignon Blanc with succulent gooseberry and thirst-quenching mineral notes. Serve with seafood and Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from three sites, Dog Point Road, Dillons Point and lower Waihopai, cool-fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 6 months on lees. 17.5+/20 Apr 2016 RRP $19.99
