Dirler Alsace Grand Cru Gewurztraminer Kitterlé 2003

Gewurztraminer from France - Alsace
Review Date : 08-Sep-2011
From a drought vintage, with 14.0% alc. Bright light golden-yellow colour, this is full, dense and solid on nose with savoury, toasty earth, herb and spice aromas all in a complex amalgam. Medium sweet, this is a full, densely weighted wine at 14.0% alc. Quite soft, low acid and broad, the luscious fruit characters fill the palate with flavours of very ripe tropical fruits, savoury bacon and meat notes, exotic spices and a little hair oil secondary development appearing. Somewhat over the top, but all the more characterful for it. Drink over the next 3-4 years.  Sep 2011
