Di Gresy ‘Gaiun Martinenga’ Barbaresco DOCG 2006

Nebbiolo from Italy - Piedmont
Review Date : 30-Jun-2012
Moderately deep ruby-garnet red colour. This is elegantly proportioned on bouquet, yet concentrated with real depth, showing very attractive red fruits unfolding layers of spices, savoury game and fine aromatic oak, all interwoven. Rich, full and dense with real lusciousness of dark red fruits, complex notes of game, dried herbs, dried flowers and spicy liquorice provide great detail and interest. The wine is well-structured with considerable tannin extraction, adding texture, line and drive, yet the wine possesses a sense of style and elegance. 15-20 years of aging possible. Fruit from the ‘Martinenga' site near Asili, fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 30 months in French oak barriques. 19.0/20 Jun 2012 RRP $175.00
