Devil’s Staircase Central Otago Pinot Noir 2011

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 28-Mar-2012
Bright, deepish purple-hued ruby-red colour, very even. This has a bright aromatic nose of cherry and raspberry fruit aromas, upfront and vibrant, with good depth, ripeness and harmony. Medium-bodied, rich, ripe fruit flavours of raspberry liqueur and dark cherries show with good sweetness and appealing succulence. Notes of dark plums and spices emerge adding to the mouthfilling flavours. The mid palate has soft textures which grow to show fine, grainy tannins leading to a dry, reasonably firm finish with light fruit nuances. This is an upfront, sweet and ripe fruited Pinot Noir that has the tannins to match rich duck and pork dishes over the next 3-4+ years. Central Otago fruit fermented to 14.2% alc. 17.5-/20 Mar 2012 RRP $24.99
