Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 01-Oct-2011
Bright straw-yellow with a pale edge to the colour, this has a fresh, bright nose with stonefruits and pears, minerals and flint with a little youthful esters aromatic lift. Medium sweet, this has some alcohol weight and body on impact, with up-front ripe pear fruit flavours and a touch of honey. The wine has a soft, round texture and moderate acidity, the palate length carried a little by the sugar. This is an easy, attractive and up-front wine that will match antipasto, poultry and pork dished over the next 2-3+ years. Fruit from the ‘Parkburn' vineyard cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 14.0% alc. and 22 g/L rs. 16.5/20 Oct 2011 RRP $20.00
