DeMorgenzon ‘DMZ’ Western Cape Chenin Blanc 2015

Chenin Blanc from South Africa
Review Date : 04-Apr-2016
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, a little paler on the edge. This has a light and elegantly concentrated nose with aromas of white florals and stonefruits expressed with purity and clarity. The aromatics have a refreshing cut, revealing waxy lanolin and nutty nuances in the glass. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate possesses a soft, rich core of white stonefruits and florals and a subtle amalgam of honeysuckle, nuts and waxy lanolin. The mouthfeel is bright, refreshing and enlivened by brisk acidity and the wine leads to a long, lingering, elegant finish of stonefruits and nuts. This is a fresh and lively, dry Chenin Blanc with a soft, rich stonefruity and waxy core. Match with seafood and creamy-sauced poultry dishes over the next 3-4 years. Stellenbosch fruit from mature bush vines, WBP and fermented in stainless-steel and seasoned oak to 14.0% alc. and 3.2 g/L RS, the wine aged 4-6 months on lees. 17.5/20 Apr 2016 RRP $30.00
