Delta Pinot Noir 2019, Marlborough

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 10-Jun-2020
Bright, youthful, light ruby-red colour with some depth. The nose is full with intensity and presence of black cherries, savoury kalamata olives, entwined with a rich herbal note of thyme, unfolding subtle coffee and toasted nut nuances. Medium-light bodied, the palate has good concentration of fruit, black cherries, red berries and underlying savoury kalamata olives. The acidity is fresh with a softness, hauling aromas of thyme and integrated notes of coffee and toasted nuts to a sustained finish. The mouthfeel is weaved by satiny tannin extraction and a soft phenolic grip. This is an appealing Pinot Noir with nuances of red fruit, savoury olives, and herbs with integrated notes of coffee and toasted nuts, supported by satiny tannin structure. Serve with pork and poultry over the next 3 years. Fruit fermented to 13.5%. Aged for 9 months in 50% stainless steel tanks and 50% seasoned French oak barriques. 18/20pts June 2020 RRP $20
