Delta Marlborough Pinot Noir 2016

Rose from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 28-Jul-2017
Even, light ruby-red colour, paler on the rim. The nose is youthful and primary with up-front and accessible aromas of dark-red cherry fruit along with suggestions of raspberries, red florals and subtle notes of fresh herbs. The aromatics form an elegant, fragrant core. Medium-bodied, the palate is elegant with finely concentrated flavour of dark-red cherry fruit interwoven with fresh herbs, lifted florals and nuances of bitter red berries. The fruit sweetness is underlined by light tannin extraction and structure, with fresh acidity lending energy. The flavours carry with good linearity to a lingering finish of red cherry fruit and florals. This is an elegant, pretty, fruit-focussed Pinot Noir with red cherry, floral and herb flavours on a light-structured palate. Match with salmon and tuna, and with antipasto over the next 3 years. Clones 115 and 777 from the Delta Farm vineyard, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged in seasoned oak and tank. 16.5/20 Jul 2017 RRP $16.99
