Delta Marlborough Chardonnay 2016

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 28-Jul-2017
Brilliant light straw-yellow colour with green hues, pale on edge. The nose is fresh and firm with good depth and intensity of white stonefruit and citrus fruit aromas entwined with nutty lees and oak notes and nuances of lemon-curd MLF. The aromas are moderately concentrated. Medium-bodied, the palate has good depth of fresh citrus fruit and stonefruit flavours alongside nutty lees and oak notes and gentle lemon-curd MLF elements. The flavours form a good, firm heart and flow along a soft-textured, dry line with integrated acidity. The wine leads to a light, dry finish. This is a fresh, firm Chardonnay with citrus and stonefruit flavours, nutty elements and some lemon-curd MLF nuances on a light, dry-textured palate. Serve with seafood, poultry and pork over the next 3 years. A blend of clones 95, 15 and 6 from clay-based soil sites in the Wairau Valley, fermented in seasoned French and American oak barriques and stainless-steel tanks to 13.0% alc., the wine given batonnage and undergoing MLF. 16.5/20 Jul 2017 RRP $14.99
