Delta Hatters Hill Sauvignon Blanc 2019, Marlborough

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 10-Jun-2020
Bright, even throughout, pale yellow with a slightly green hue. The nose is fresh with intense aromas of passionfruit, gooseberries and lime melded with beautifully scented elderflower, green herbs and a soft dusting of white pepper. Medium-light bodied, the palate is lush with some weight, presenting elderflower, honeyed aromas along with ripened passionfruit, cassis and lime; unveiling subtle spices. The taste is fresh with a softness; oily texture integrated with a chalky mouthfeel. Acidity is the main drive and flows, with good energy to a lingering refreshing finish. This is a lively, dry white with intense aromas of classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, with layers of interest and honeyed round edges. Match with shellfish and grilled fish over the next 3-5 years. Fruit from two vineyards in Dillon's Point, fermented in a combination of stainless steel, seasoned barriques and puncheons to 12.5%alc, 1.9g/l RS. 19/20pts June 2020 RRP $30
