Delas Ventoux 2013

Grenache from France - Rhone
Review Date : 04-Sep-2014
80% Grenache and 20% Syrah from the commune of Apt, Cotes du Ventoux, fermented to 13.0% alc. and bottled without oak contact. Dark, deep, near impenetrable black-hued red with purple hues. The nose is full and softly up-front with raspberry and jam and confectionary aromas from whole berry fermentation. Ripe blackberry and boysenberry nuances emerge with aeration. Medium-bodied, soft, plush and juicy fruit flavours of raspberries, jam and fruit bon-bons are supported by soft, modest extraction and low acidity lending a rounded mouthfeel. The tannins grow in grip and dryness and carry through to a textured finish. This is a juicy, raspberry jam fruited Ventoux with a dry, textured finish. Serve with pasta, pizza and barbecued food over the next 2-3 years. 16,500 cases made. 16.5/20 Sep 2014 RRP $16.99
