Delaplace Champagne Brut NV

Sparkling Wine from France - Champagne
Review Date : 20-Dec-2012
Made by Champagne Charpentier at Charly sur Marne. A blend of 75-80% Pinot Meunier, 15-20% Chardonnay and 5% Pinot Noir with 15% reserve wine, given 3 years on lees. 12.0% alc. Bright straw-yellow colour with a light golden hue. Fine and persistent bead. The bouquet is fresh, full and broad with soft yellow stonefruit aromas of Pinot fruit and subtly balanced bready, yeasty autolysis. The aromatics are soft and up-front in presentation. Dryish and medium-bodied, soft, accessible and gently luscious fruit flavours are harmoniously entwined with moderate bready notes. The dosage is apparent, adding to the fruitiness and rounded mouthfeel. Fine effervescence, and moderate acidity underlines the palate, and lifts the flavour of apples, citrus fruit, bread and nuts. The finish is light, clean and easy flowing. This is a light, approachably soft and gently lush and fruity Champagne that will be ideal as an aperitif or served with first courses over the next 2+ years. 17.5/20 Dec 2012 RRP $48.00
