Decibel Hawke’s Bay Viognier 2014

Viognier from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 23-Oct-2016
Full, light golden-hued yellow colour with some depth, lighter on edge. The bouquet is full, deep and broad with fulsome aromas of rich, savoury yellow stonefruits, apricots, apricot kernels and musk, the nose showing a little secondary development, but underlined by a subtle steely freshness. Dry to taste and full-bodied, the palate is soft and mouthfilling with rounded flavours of ripe, savoury apricots along with yellow stonefruit kernels and musk. The mouthfeel is harmonious and integrated with soft, mellow acidity and smooth textures, with savoury secondary stonefruit notes blossoming and carrying to a powerful, rounded, lingering finish. This is a fulsome, soft and rounded, rich Viognier with apricot and savoury secondary flavours, a rounded mellow and concentrated palate with good power. Serve with Mediterranean fare over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from Dartmoor, tank-fermented to 14.5% alc. and dryness. 90 cases made. 18.0-/20 Oct 2016 RRP $18.00
