Debussy ‘Reverie’ Pays d’Oc Chardonnay 2016

Chardonnay from France - Other
Review Date : 13-May-2018
Bright, light lemon-gold colour with a pale edge. The nose is full with bright and lively aromas of ripe citrus fruit along with yellow stonefruits intermingling with positive and up-front spicy and nutty oak elements. The aromatics have depth and volume, and unfold some lanolin-like nuances. Medium-full bodied, the palate is fulsome with good depth a breadth of citrus fruit and stonefruit flavours enhanced by strong nutty and spicy oak elements. The flavours are mouthfilling and balanced by refreshing and lively acidity, and the wine carries with good drive and energy along a fine-textured line, leading to a lingering finish of fruit and oak. This is a mouthfilling and upfront Chardonnay with bold, citrus and stonefruit flavours alongside nutty and spicy oak, on a fulsome and refreshing palate with a fine-textured line. Match with grilled and roasted poultry, pork and veal over the next 3 years. Chardonnay fruit fermented to 13.5% and matured with oak contact, the wine undergoing batonnage. 17.5-/20 May 2018 RRP $22.95
