de Vine Waipara Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 22-Jan-2014
Light straw-yellow colour with some blushed hues, pale on rim. This has an elegantly proportioned and attractively lifted bouquet of white and yellow florals and stonefruits, lifted with esters and pear-drops, the aromatics growing in depth in the glass. Medium-dry to taste and light-medium bodied, clean and fragrant stonefruit flavours are enriched by pear and honeysuckle notes, with esters adding an aromatic lift. The mouthfeel is rounded and the sweetness adds to an up-front richness. The palate has a good core and the flavours flow smoothly along a near unctuous and slippery line, becoming lighter and drier on the finish, enabling the acidity to show. This is a light, medium-dry Pinot Gris with attractively aromatic fruit and a smooth palate. Serve with antipasto and fine Asian fare over the next 3 years. Waipara fruit fermented to 12.5% alc. and medium-dry. 17.5/20 Jan 2014 RRP $16.99
