de Vine Nelson Dry Pinot Gris 2015

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 25-Nov-2015
Bright, very pale, straw-yellow colour with some depth, paler edged. The nose is light and fresh with an amalgam of pear fruit with white florals, unveiling delicate nuances of herbs and minerals. The aromatics are clean, pure and steely in expression. Dry to off-dry in taste and medium-bodied, the palate features gently rounded and softly luscious fruit flavours of pear fruit along with yellow stonefruits and florals with some honeysuckle. The richness is balanced by soft textures and mellow, but lacy acidity. The phenolics emerge as the fruit recedes and carry the wine to a light, honied, dry finish. This is a softly rounded, gently rich, dryish Pinot Gris with pear and honeysuckle flavours and a light, dry finish. Match with Asian fare over the next 3 years. Nelson fruit fermented to 12.5% alc. 17.0+/20 Nov 2015 RRP $16.00
