Deep garnet-red colour with some bricking on rim. Elegant, fresh and lifted aromas of ripe red berry and cherry fruit aromas are expressed with savoury herb nuances and a little resiny oak. Medium-bodied, this is elegant and slender in proportion, with bright, sweet red berry fruits lifted with dark red floral elements. Fine-grained tannins and gentle acidity provide a balanced and fine textured mouthfeel, and the wine flows smoothly to a reserved, but detailed fruit-nuanced finish with moderate length. An elegant, well-proportioned Pinot Noir with fresh fruit and balance. Match with Mediterranean-inspired red meat dishes over the next 4-5+ years. Martinborough fruit, Abel and Dijon clones, fermented to 14.5% alc., the wine on skins 20 days, then aged 16 months in 15% new French oak barrels. 200 cases made. 17.5/20 Aug 2012 RRP $19.99
