de Vine Gisborne Chardonnay 2013

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Gisborn
Review Date : 30-Jul-2014
Bright straw-yellow colour with slight golden hues. The nose is fresh and up-front with clean aromas of yellow stonefruits entwined with subtle flinty elements from lees, building in depth and unfolding butterscotch and nutty MLF complexities. Medium-bodied, the palate features soft, luscious and ripe yellow stonefruit flavours with butterscotch MLF waves that open up to fill the mouth. A dry, textured, phenolic line and soft acidity balances the fruit sweetness. Some alcoholic power is noticeable providing drive, carrying the flavours to a dry, butterscotch nuanced finish. This is an up-front, dry-textured Chardonnay with butterscotch flavours and some power. Match with poultry and pork dishes over the next 3+ years. 17.0/20 Jul 2014 RRP $16.99
