de Vine Central Otago Pinot Noir 2012

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 29-Jul-2014
Dark hearted ruby-red colour, a little lighter on rim. This has a softly full and well-packed bouquet of ripe black cherry and black berried fruits infused with attractively fragrant, spicy oak and lifted violetty florals. Medium-full bodied, the palate features lusciously juicy dark cherry and berryfruit flavours, along with spices and cedary oak notes. The fruit has nuances of dark thyme herbs that unfold, adding subtle interest. Very fine-grained tannins support the fruit, providing a smooth, velvety line with firm drive. Some alcoholic power adds energy, and the palate flows to a long, lingering, spicy finish. This is a smooth-textured Pinot Noir with spicy black cherry flavours. Serve with pork and lamb, and with Middle Eastern and Asian fare over the next 4-5+ years. Alexandra fruit, fermented to 13.5% alc. 18.0/20 Jul 2014 RRP $25.99
