de Vine Central Otago Pinot Noir 2009

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 09-Aug-2012
85% Gibbston fruit and 15% Bannockburn, fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine on skins 15 days, then aged 10 months in seasoned French oak. Moderately deep, garnet-hued red with some bricking on edge. The bouquet is full with savoury mushroom and red berry fruit aromas, complexed by notes of game and brown spices and earth. Medium-full bodied, plump red plum and savoury, secondary undergrowth, herb and game flavours are supported by soft, grainy tannins and discreet acidity providing good mouthfeel and structure. This has liveliness and tension through the mid-palate, the finish textured and drying, and with some length. This is a full, flavoursome Pinot Noir with savoury secondary development flavours and the freshness to keep 3-4+ years. Match with mushroom and game meat. 320 cases made. 17.5-/20 Aug 2012 RRP $19.99
