De Bortoli ‘Regional Reserve’ Yarra Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Cabernet Sauvignon from Australia - Victoria
Review Date : 14-Sep-2016
Very dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the rim with garnet hues. This has an elegantly concentrated and firmly bound nose with penetrating aromas of blackcurrants and cassis, entwined with fresh dark herbs and a layer of leaf and stalk. Medium-bodied, the palate possesses a concentrated heart of blackcurrant and cassis flavours interwoven with fresh, dark herbal motes and subtle leafiness. The mouthfeel is bright and fresh with lively acidity, balanced by fine-grained tannin extraction and structure. The fruit and tannins form a fine, tight line which carries to a lingering finish of blackcurrant, mint and leaf. This is an elegantly concentrated Cabernet Sauvignon with blackcurrant leaf and herb flavours, and a fine, firm, lively palate. Match with herb-marinated lamb and beef dishes over the next 4 years. Yarra Valley fruit fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 10 months in French oak. 17.0/20 Sep 2016 RRP $16.99
