Bright straw-yellow with slight golden hues to the colour. The nose is elegantly intense with near powerful and concentrated mineral and flint aromas, quite nutty with some secondary earth and oxidative complexities. Medium bodied, concentrated flavours with an array of nutty fruit interwoven with minerals and flint make a bold impact. Reductive complexities and some oxidative complexities abound. This has chalky, waxy textures that drive the palate line, the acidity now abating, and the wine finished dry, soft and flinty. A strong flinty and reductive style that is developing secondary interest. Drink over the next 4 years. From Rene and Vincent Dauvissat's 11 ha domaine, the fruit fermented in vats to 13.0%, then aged in predominantly seasoned oak barrels 8-18 months with no batonnage. 18.0-/20 Jul 2012
