Dashwood Marlborough Pinot Noir 2013

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 26-Apr-2014
Moderately deep ruby-red colour with slight purple hues, lighter on rim. This has an elegantly bound nose of dark raspberry fruit with red liquorice notes and a piquant herbal underlay, the aromatics somewhat restrained in expression. Medium-bodied, the palate has a good core of softly rich and sweet raspberry fruit flavours. Red liquorice and dark herbs add interest. The mouthfeel has vibrancy and a rounded presence with supple background tannins, building in depth. The wine flows easily to a gentle and light finish with lingering red fruits. This is a softly vibrant Pinot Noir with a soft, positive mouthfeel. Match with poultry and pork, and with Asian cuisine over the next 3-4 years. Marlborough fruit fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 11 months in French oak barriques. 17.0+/20 Apr 2014 RRP $19.00
