Dashwood Marlborough Chardonnay 2016

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 10-May-2017
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, paler on the rim. The nose is soft and even with fresh and straightforward aroma of white stonefruits along with subtle nutty notes and hints of chalky minerals. Medium-full bodied, the palate is uncomplicated with clear and clean flavours of white stonefruits, along with nutty and mineral detail forming an elegant core. The flavours build, revealing some lemon-curd MLF and citrus fruit notes, and the wine flows along a fine-textured line with fresh, balancing acidity, leading to a clean finish of stonefruits and citrus fruit. This is a straightforward, clean Chardonnay with flavours of white stonefruits, nuts and mineral detail. Serve as an aperitif and with most white meat dishes over the next 2+ years. A blend of Awatere and Wairau Valley fruit fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 9 months with 10% new oak, 70% undergoing MLF. 16.5/20 May 2017 RRP $15.00
