Dashwood Marlborough Chardonnay 2015

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 01-Nov-2016
Bright, light golden-yellow colour with some depth, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is full and broad with moderately rich and concentrated, softly interwoven aroma of ripe citrus fruit along with nutty and toasty oak and creamy, butterscotch MLF layers. Medium-bodied, the palate is upfront with fresh and mouthfilling flavours citrus fruit and tropical fruit melded with nutty and toasty oak, and creamy, buttery MLF flavours. The mouthfeel is soft-textured with fine, underlying phenolics, and integrated, soft acidity which allow the flavours to blossom and fill the palate. The flavours gently recede to a light finish with harmoniously entwined notes of citrus fruits, nuts and butterscotch. This is an up-front Chardonnay with mouthfilling citrus, buttery and creamy flavours on a harmonious, soft palate. Match with roasted poultry and pork dishes over the next 3 years. Marlborough fruit cool-fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 9 months in 10% new French oak with batonnage. 17.0/20 Nov 2016 RRP $19.00
