Dark Corner South Eastern Australia Durif/Shiraz 2017

Blended Red from Australia - Other
Review Date : 05-Oct-2017
Dark, deep, saturated black-red colour with purple hues, little lighter on the edge and very youthful in appearance. The nose is full, up-front and deep with ripe aromas of blackberries and boysenberries with dark raspberry and plum jam fruit. The aromatics are very primary in expression, building in depth with aeration. Full-bodied, the palate has up-front, rich and juicy, sweet fruit flavours of boysenberries and blackberries with raspberry and plum jam. The fruit is lush and primary, filling the palate. The mouthfeel shows light, supple tannin extraction lending some structure, and integrated acidity, with the fruit richness driving the wine to a jammy finish. This is a plush, sweet and juicy, ripe Durif/Shiraz blend with boysenberry, blackberry and raspberry jam flavours, and a light, supple structure. Serve with barbecued and roasted red meats over the next 3 years. A blend of 65% Durif and 35% Shiraz, fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine given 4 months oak contact. Winemaker: David Joeky. 16.5+/20 Oct 2017 RRP $19.99
