d’Arenberg The Stump Jump Shiraz 2020, McLaren Vale

Shiraz from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 28-Mar-2023
Deep, even, ruby-red. The nose is vibrant with bright aromas of red plum, blackberry, subtle spice and a slight hint of meat. Medium-full bodied, aromas of red plum, red berry and blackberry have a fresh core, melded with subtle pepper and a light hint of smoke meat. The fruit is juicy and youthful, supported by a lively line of acidity. The tannin framework reflected subtle richness. This Shiraz is vibrant with subtle richness and details, carries a fresh palate and a sustained finish. Match with grilled meat and burgers over the next 3+ years. The fruit is mostly from old bus vines, gently crushed, fermented in open tanks to 14% alc, basket pressed and aged in oak. 17+/20 pts (86 pts) Mar 2023 RRP $18
