d’Arenberg ‘The Hermit Crab’ McLaren Vale Viognier/Marsanne 2010

Blended White from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 13-Jul-2013
68% Viognier and 32% Marsanne, from 95% McLaren Vale and 5% Adelaide Hills, a small portion wild fermented and 14% of the Viognier in barrel to 13.1% alc. Bright, pale golden yellow colour, this is rich on bouquet with a base of honeysuckle Marsanne predominant over the Viognier. Wax and steel, with limes unfold, showing its Australian provenance. Dry and medium-full bodied, the flavours are light and rather subdued, more lime-like and waxy and nutty in character. The mouthfeel is firm, with phenolic textures prevalent, and along with the acidity tends towards hardness, but with length. This will keep 4+ years. 17.0/20 Jun 2013 RRP $25.95
