Dandelion Vineyards Lionheart Of The Barossa Shiraz 2020, Barossa

Shiraz from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 19-Dec-2022
Full, dense, ruby-red with a dark purple hue, lighter on the rim. The nose is full and alluring, with aromas of violet, overlying lavender, blackberry, cherry and plum, and an amalgam of spice and cedar wood. Full-bodied, broody aromas of blackberry, cherry and plum interweaved with violet, lavender, and cedar, extended with roasted coffee, black pepper, clove and sage. The wine is complex, with layers of flavour and interest, supported by a fresh acid line. Fine-grained tannin framework contributes to a structured and velvety mouthfeel. This richly flavoured Shiraz shows multilayers of flavour with dimensions and a long, velvety finish. Match with venison and lamb over the next 10 years. Handpicked, gently crushed and fermented in open-top fermenters for 8 days, basket pressed into predominantly older French and American oak barriques with a small portion of new oak, aged 18 months. 14.5% alc. 19/20 pts (95 pts) Dec 2022 RRP $30
