Dallington Downs Waipara Valley Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 22-Mar-2013
Very full, deep, black-red colour. The bouquet is attractively aromatic with lively, dark red berry fruits and lifted red florals, along with nuances of dark plums, liquorice and herbs. Medium-full bodied, bright and succulent dark red berry and plum fruit flavours feature on the palate. Subtle savoury interest unfolds in the glass indicating the beginning of secondary development. The fruit is supported by fine-grained tannin extraction which provides a moderately firm underlying line and mouthfeel. The acidity is discreet, and this has balance and proportion. The flavours carry through to a red fruited, firm and dry finish with good length. This is a sweet-fruited Pinot Noir with an underlying fine-grained, drying firmness. Serve with Mediterranean fare over the next 5-6 years. Hand-picked fruit fermented to 13.2% alc., and aged in seasoned French oak. 17.5+/20 Mar 2013 RRP $29.95
