Cypress ‘Terraces’ Hawke’s Bay Syrah 2007

Syrah from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 16-Mar-2011
Made from fruit the hillside site fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 20 months in French oak. Dark, deep ruby-red, this has a powerful and concentrated bouquet packed with black berry fruits, spices, pepper and toasty oak. On palate, this is a seriously constructed wine with excellent ripe black fruits just showing some meaty-game secondary nuances, laced by plenty of high quality oak. The tannins are fine-grained and carry through to a long sustained finish. Drink with game meat over the next 5-8 years.  Mar 2011
