Cypress Hawke’s Bay Pinot Gris 2009

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 16-Mar-2011
Straw yellow with a full nose of ripe stonefruits, earth and minerals. Dry and full-bodied, this sits at 14.0% alc, carrying only 4 g/L rs. The palate is mouthfilling and simultaneously firm and flinty. The acidity shows and lends a savouriness to the stonefruit characters. This is a solid, near-austere expression of Pinot Grigio that will be a good wine with antipasto over the next 2-3+ years. The only Cypress wine made from fruit not from the estate, but from coastal Haumoana.  Mar 2011
