Curatolo Arini ‘Coralto’ Sicilia Nero d’Avol IGP 2010

Other Red from Italy - Other
Review Date : 24-Jul-2013
Full, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues. The bouquet is softly full with ripe aromas of dark plums and hints of boysenberries, infused with cedar, spices and earth, along with building game elements. Medium-full bodied, black plum, liquorice and spiced fruit flavours rest on a firm-cored palate. The mouthfeel is rounded, with low acidity, but carried by soft grainy tannins that grow to form a firm, underyling, dry line. Cedar and game flavours become more prominent and the palate carries through to a very long, firm finish showing depth and intensity. This is a firm, driven Nero d’Avola with plum and liquorice flavours, with gamey notes. Serve with barbecued and roasted red meat dishes over the next 3-4+ years. 100% Nero d’Avola from San Cataldo, central Sicily, stainless-steel fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 2-3 months in seasoned French and American oak barriques. 17.0-/20 Jul 2013 RRP $24.95
