Crush Pad Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2014

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 11-Jul-2014
Brilliant straw-yellow colour with light green-gold hues, pale on rim. This has a light and aromatic nose of steely, yellow stonefruits alongside soft butterscotch MLF and nutty oak notes, the expression fresh, easy and accessible. Dry to taste and medium-light bodied, rather light and uncomplicated, but lush and juicy stonefruit flavours feature on the palate. The butterscotch MLF is well-balanced and harmonious with the fruit and adds some richness to the fresh mouthfeel. Background acidity and a little textural thread carries the wine to a clean, dry finish. This is a light and up-front, simple Chardonnay with some juicy fruit and butterscotch notes. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Puketapu district, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 3 months in seasoned French oak with 70% MLF. 15.5/20 Jul 2014 RRP $16.00
