Crown Range Cellar ‘Drowsy Fish’ Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 06-Jul-2016
Full, light straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the rim. The nose is soft and full with gentle aromatics of fragrant herbs melded with passionfruit and gooseberry fruit, entwined with cut grass, white florals and nuances of minerals. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, the palate possesses fresh and bright, up-front and sweet fruit flavours of passionfruit and gooseberries entwined with sweet herbs and white florals. Nuances of tropical fruit and cut grass add interest. The mouthfeel is fresh and lively with lacy acidity providing energy and flow. The wine follows a fine-textured, dry line, leading to a slender, dry finish of herbs and cut grass. This is a fresh, up-front, sweet passionfruit and gooseberry fruited Sauvignon Blanc with liveliness and a fine, dry line. Serve with seafood and Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from Nelson cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. 17.5-/20 Jul 2016 RRP $29.99
