Crossroads ‘Milestone Series’ Marlborough Pinot Noir 2011

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 15-Feb-2013
Deep ruby-red colour, fresh in appearance. This has a softly full and moderately intense nose of ripe dark red berry fruits with delicate herb elements, the aromatics even and accessible, with good clarity. Medium-full bodied, light and restrained flavours of dark raspberries gently fill the palate, revealing spice and oak interest. The fruit is framed by fine, grainy tannins which form a moderately drying textural line. Soft acidity contributes to a roundness, and the flavours finish with good length and spicy red fruit nuance. This is a fine, grainy structured Pinot Noir with gentle raspberry fruitiness. Match with duck, pork and semi-hard cheeses over the next 4-5 years. Awatere Valley fruit fully destemmed and fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 7 months in 23% new French oak barriques. 17.0+/20 Feb 2013 RRP $26.95
