Abel and UCD5 clone Pinot Noir from the ‘Pirinoa Road' vineyard, fermented to 13.9% alc., the wine aged 10 months in French oak. Full, dark, deep ruby-red colour with slight purple hues. The nose is shy, but with good voluminous presence, showing ripe, black cherry and dark red berry fruits, hints of liquorice, savoury game and minerally elements. Full-bodied, the black fruit flavours are subdued, but possess an underlying sweetness and richness. This is a full, weighty wine with good mouthfeel and alcohol generosity adding roundness to the palate. Supple, soft tannins support plush textures, and the wine blossoms with luscious dark plum fruit flavours on the finish. This is a full, rounded Pinot Noir with savoury dark fruits and some alcohol warmth.
