Craggy Range ‘Te Muna Road Vineyard’ Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 20-Mar-2013
Bright straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale edge. The bouquet is freshly firm and brackish with concentrated aromas of pungent passionfruit, gooseberries and blackcurrant leaves, lifted lime and mineral detail, the aromatics still tightly bound. Dry and medium-bodied, this is crisp and tight with good concentration of gooseberry fruit, blackcurrants and minerals, underlined by racy acidity. The mouthfeel is dry and chalky, with very fine textures, revealing a subtle richness and sweetness enhanced by the zingy acidity. This has a good palate line that leads to a fine-textured, tight finish with moderately sustained nuances of gooseberries and fresh herbs. Tight and youthful, this is a dry, chalky textured sauvignon Blanc with detailed flavours. Match with seafood, poultry and creamy pasta dishes over the next 3+ years. Fermented partially with indigenous yeasts in stainless-steel and seasoned French oak barriques to 12.7% alc. and 1.5 g/L rs. 17.5+/20 Oct 2012 RRP $23.95
