Craggy Range ‘Te Muna Road Vineyard’ Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 14-Oct-2011
14% hand-picked and WBP, fermented in French barriques and stainless-steel to 13.8% alc. and 3.5 g/L rs. Bright straw-yellow colour with the palest green hues, this has a full, voluminous nose, the fruit still a little shy in expression, with subtle pungent passionfruit, gooseberry and herb aromas and a touch of smoke. Dry, weighty and with mouthfilling presence, the fruit flavours gradually build to show sweet passionfruit, stonefruits and minerals. This is fleshy, textural and solidly constructed with good acid freshness underscoring the palate leading to a racy, mineral nuanced finish. Match with firm-flesh seafood, poultry and Mediterranean fare over the next 2-3 years. 17.5/20 Oct 2011 RRP $23.95
