Craggy Range ‘Te Muna Road Vineyard’ Martinborough Riesling 2012

Riesling from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 25-Oct-2012
Hand-picked and WBP, partially indigenous yeast fermented in stainless-steel and old French barriques to 12.1% alc. and 9.5 g/L rs with a TA 9.7 g/L and pH 2.88. Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. Elegantly fresh and pure aromas of limes and lemons with hints of wet stones and minerals reveal subtle nuances of fresh herbs, building with good depth on the nose. Dryish to taste, tightly bound flavours of limes, lemons and minerals initially appear a little austere, but open to show a gentle succulence and sweetness, the flavours enlivened by racy acidity. Fine, dry phenolic textures show the fruit extract and potential, forming a refined palate line which carries the flavours to a very long, crisp and dry finish with flinty notes. This is a tight, finely textured, classical dryish Riesling that will develop over the next 4-5+ years. Serve as an aperitif and with fine Asian cuisine. 18.5-/20 Oct 2012 RRP $26.95
