Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 22-Mar-2013
Lighter ruby-red with some outhful purple hues. The bouquet is elegant and graceful, somewhat smaller-scale but beautifully perfumed with dark red cherry and berry fruits and florals, revealing savoury nuances and an underlying herb-stalk complexity. An elegantly sized wine on palate, lifted dark red berry and cherries show with brightness, sweetness and succulence. Quite primary, near racy acidity provides drive, with fine-grained, supple, and positive tannins in support. The finish is carried by the acidity, which is lifted with lovely oak spices. A very elegant, youthful and aromatic wine with fresh acidity featuring. 6-8+ years easily. This is a classical vintage for Martinborough and has provided slender beauty. 18.5-/20  Mar 2013 Full, vibrant ruby-red colour with slight purple hues on rim.
