Craggy Range ‘Te Muna Road Vineyard’ Martinborough Pinot Noir 2008

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 22-Mar-2013
Dark, deep, ruby-red colour with some youthful purple hues. The bouquet is full, dense and firm with vigorous fruit aromas of black and dark red berry and cherry fruits, and fresh dark herbs, along with nuances of game and spicy oak in support. Medium full-bodied, vibrantly bright fruit flavours of ripe, dark berry and cherry fruit are interwoven with black plum and herbal detail. The mouthfeel is seamless, with balanced and harmonious fine-textured tannins and tension-giving acidity. This is still youthfully fresh, and in superb balance, and an underlying power and drive becomes apparent. This is a complete wine that is fresh, vital and subtly vigorous. It will continue to develop over the next 10+ years. A wine that is a result of an ideal growing season, and a great Martinborough vintage. 19.5/20 Mar 2013
