Craggy Range ‘Te Muna Road Vineyard’ Martinborough Pinot Noir 2007

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 22-Mar-2013
Very dark, near impenetrable black-red with a faint garnet hue. This has a highly concentrated and densely packed nose with black and dark red berry fruit along with earthy, herbal and bramble interest unfolding. Full-bodied, this is fulsome and mouthfilling, packed with lush, sweet black berry fruit flavours that are complexed by herbal, stalk and cedary oak elements. This has size and a massive presence due to the extraction and textures, the tannins still significant and grainy. The palate is sufficiently cut by proper acidity, and there is plenty of freshness and liveliness. Complex oak infused herb and forest elements mark a long and concentrated finish. This is a powerfully concentrated, complex, lush, black fruited wine with the structure to match. The power and concentration are the result of the minuscule yields following poor flowering. It will hold another 8-10 years. 19.0+/20 Mar 2013
